Your first appointment

Know what to expect before you walk in

Same-day visits and walk-ins are welcome. Your first Harbor of Health visit is a private conversation about what is happening now, what you want to change, and what level of support can be provided safely.

Same-day visits and walk-ins are welcome

Harbor accepts same-day visits and walk-ins Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Calling ahead can help the team prepare and may reduce your wait, but an advance appointment is not required.

Step by step

A clear start to care

1. Welcome & registration

Confirm contact information, review privacy practices and patient rights, and complete required consent forms.

2. Screening & assessment

Discuss substance use, medical and behavioral health history, safety, strengths, needs, and recovery goals.

3. Level-of-care review

The clinical team determines whether outpatient treatment is appropriate or a different level of care is needed.

4. Individualized plan

Agree on treatment goals, counseling services, medical coordination, monitoring, and the next appointment.

What to bring

  • Photo identification
  • Insurance card or payment information, if applicable
  • A current list of medications, doses, and prescribers
  • Relevant hospital, detox, treatment, or medical records if available
  • Contact information for providers or supports you want involved
  • Questions you want the team to answer
Do not delay emergency care while gathering records. Call 911 for an overdose, severe withdrawal, or another medical emergency.

Confidentiality and consent

Harbor protects patient information under applicable federal and Pennsylvania confidentiality requirements. Staff explain how information may be used, when written authorization is required, and the limited situations in which disclosure may be permitted or required by law.

A general website form or ordinary email is not a secure place to send medical records or detailed substance-use information. Call first for current secure-transfer instructions.
