The counselor and patient work together on goals that are specific, realistic, and reviewed over time.

Harbor’s approach emphasizes safety, dignity, choice, collaboration, cultural responsiveness, and respect. Patients are included in decisions about their treatment and receive information in language they can understand.
When depression, anxiety, trauma, serious mental-health symptoms, medical concerns, or other needs require services outside Harbor’s scope, staff coordinate referrals and collaborate with outside providers when proper authorization is in place.
